The Ministry
of Industrial Development,
Sarawak (MID) is a state agency established in 1987 to spearhead the
development of the state's industrial sector. MID is responsible for
the promotion, coordination and implementation of industrial
development activities in Sarawak.
MID core
functions cover:
- Formulate
policies, strategies
and programme on industrial
development
- Undertake
investment promotion
locally and abroad
- Plan,
develop and manage
Industrial Estates
- Process
& evaluate
applications for Industrial lots in Industrial Estates developed by MID
- Act
as Secretariat to the
Industrial
Coordination Committee
- Act
as focal point for investors
- Act
as Free Zone Authority for
Sama Jaya Free
Industrial Zone
- Act
as Secretariat to the State
Industrial
Coordination Committee
- Act as
watching briefs on matters relating to the MITI and MDTCA
